Presidential Remarks
Dear Colleagues: On behalf of Asian Federation of Foot & Ankle Surgeons, I sincerely welcome every one of you to join this big family. As this issue of AFFAS Newsletter is prepared by Singaporean Foot & Ankle Society, I want to express my deepest appreciation to President Ken Jin Tan and his dedicated team for their hard work in making this AFFAS Newsletter a success. With each edition, we have witnessed the evolution of our Newsletter, presenting a diverse range of content including scientific articles, rare case reports and groundbreaking original research papers in the field of foot and ankle surgery. I would like to congratulate Professor Jin Woo Lee on his great success of hosting 2024 IFFAS meeting in Seoul. His great team has showed us what a successful academic meeting should be! And I am also honored to inform you that the upcoming 10th AFFAS meeting will be held in Singapore in Oct. 2025. This meeting will be hosted by Dr. Keen Wai Chong. I want to thank Dr. Chong for his effort in preparing this AFFAS meeting. This conference promises to be a remarkable gathering of distinguished foot and ankle surgeons from around the world. And it will offer a unique platform for collaboration and the exchange of innovative ideas about foot ankle surgery. Please book mark this event in your schedule and encourage your colleague to attend this meeting. I believe we can improve our knowledge of foot and ankle surgery if more and more surgeons join this Asian foot and ankle society. We can also improve our friendship and make more new friends. Please encourage your colleague to join our big family and make it stronger! Sincerely

What's New
・The 10th Annual Meeting of Asian Federation of Foot and Ankle Surgeons October 30th to November 1st 2025, Singapore President: CHONG Keen-Wai
Meeting President’s Message
Dear AFFAS members:
I am pleased to be given the privilege of hosting the 10th meeting of the Asian Federation of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. This event will be held in Singapore from October 30th to November 1st 2025 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore. This event will be held in conjunction with the 47th Annual Meeting of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association. As such, it promises to be an exciting and large gathering of international experts and colleagues.
Singapore is situated in South East Asia. There are many direct international flights from major cities in the world. Many overseas guests do not need a visa to enter Singapore. We are situated about one degree north of the equator and the weather in late October is cool and pleasant. The meeting venue is in the heart of the city right next to the Singapore river. Many local attractions are only a short walk away. There are also many accommodation options nearby to cater to different budgets.
I am looking forward to welcoming everyone in Singapore. My team and I will do our best to make sure that the 10th AFFAS meeting will be successful and academically interesting. There will be exciting pre-congress workshops for young foot and ankle surgeons. Please look out for them and register early.
Further information on registration and free paper abstract submission will be available soon. We will provide a link from this website. You can also find relevant information on the Singapore Orthopaedic Association website from December onwards.
